Chess Pavilion and Suthro Bath

The design is to accommodate both indoor and outdoor feel of this pavilion. This will be use for special events to include chess tournament. There are three levels. Walls are closed using glass and strips of wood to keep natural light in and to experience outdoors without suffering from high winds. Main floors and structural columns will be made of concrete to unite with older structures around the site.
The pavilion is facing the ocean. The Entrance is located at the ground level with the opening facing the ocean. This level experience closely to the water as you can feel the splashed of water from the waves hitting the rocks. The second level faces both the ocean and the hillside. Glass walls to shield from the wind close this level but the sides are open to feel some breeze. The top level is an open balcony/rooftop. This level creates a 360 degree experience.
